Bipolar and Depression Support Groups

Support groups are a great way to meet people that are positive about managing their lives and creating change. One type of support group is professionally run by psychiatrists and therapists who unfortunately don't have direct personal experience living with bipolar or depression. Another type is managed by peers or members that have direct experience but they may not have the training, insight or knowledge advocated by Bipolar Advantage. Unfortunately, too many groups are just complaint sessions that only make things worse.

Our support groups have fully trained and certified peer facilitators. They have taken our workshops and are certified by the Bipolar Advantage Education Team. We help people to accomplish true personal growth, emphasizing the principles taught in our workshops. Support is available on-line, via telephone, and in person.

For an online, web-based support group, we have teamed up with Dr. Vince Caimano and his Live Depression Support Group. These support groups are conducted via the internet using a web-conferencing service. You have the convenience of joining a meeting from your home with complete confidentiality. Live Depression Support Group brings people who suffer with depression, bipolar disorder and anxiety together to learn, share and encourage each other. The groups are led by professionals who have training and experience with these issues. Meetings include a brief education segment and time for voluntary sharing.
